What are the different transit visas?

3. The C3 visa: for members of foreign governments
   This visa is intended for members of foreign governments, as well as their families or accompanying persons, transiting through a territory on official business. It reflects their diplomatic status and allows them to pass through a country briefly, while respecting international protocols.

How do I obtain a transit visa?

To obtain a transit visa for the United States, several steps must be followed:

• Determine whether a C1, C2 or C3 visa is required, depending on the situation;
• Fill in Form DS-160 online, making sure to provide accurate and complete information.
• Once the form has been submitted, pay the non-refundable visa application fee.
• Then schedule an interview at the American embassy in your country of residence. At this interview, you’ll need to present supporting documents, including:
  • Valid passport for travel to the USA
  • The photo that meets requirements
  • Confirmation of DS-160 form
  • Proof of travel itinerary, e.g. airline tickets
  • Any document certifying official status on a C2 or C3 visa.
