B2 VISA | UNITED STATES

What is ESTA?

ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. This is an electronic system set up by the United States to pre-screen travelers before they enter the country. This system was set up as part of the U.S. Visa Waiver Program. This program allows citizens of 41 countries to travel to the United States for stays of up to 90 days without needing a visa.

To obtain travel authorization in just a few minutes, simply complete the ESTA form online.

How ESTA works

ESTA is designed to simplify and secure travel to the United States. Here’s how it works:

  1. Apply online: Travelers must complete the ESTA form online on the official ESTA website. The form asks for personal information, travel details and answers to security questions.
  2. Paying ESTA fees: Once the form has been completed, applicants must pay an online credit card fee of 21 USD to finalize their ESTA application.
  3. Application processing: ESTA applications are processed very quickly. Most requests are processed within a few minutes, but it is recommended to submit the request at least 72 hours before departure.
  4. Receipt of ESTA authorization: If the application is approved, an ESTA authorization is valid for two years or until the passport expires. The ESTA certificate can be printed out, allowing multiple stays of up to 90 days.

VWP Eligible Countries

ESTA is available to citizens of countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program. The list of 41 eligible countries includes most of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and several other countries including Israel.
